Remar is an abbreviation of a Spanish phrase which means "Rehabilitation of people on the margin of society".

Remar is also the verb to row. Remar therefore can be seen as a team of oarsmen all in the same boat rowing out against all the cruel currents of the world. The Remar charity first started its work in Vitoria, Spain in the early eighties where it opened its first centre to help all kinds of marginalized people; drug addicts, homeless, young offenders, alcoholics, depressives, prostitutes and so on. Since then over 100,000 drug addicts have passed through Remar through these years. With the urge to help more people, it became clear the need to open Remar in Argentina. This was made possible in 1992 when 7 rehabilitated missionaries decided to give up their lives to help the needy in Argentina. With Gods help we were able to start this work which to date is in more than 20 cities in Argentina with thousands of people being helped.

Because of the amount of people joining us, the need for small and medium businesses were created to help financially, due to the needs of many people. These workshops are means of income for the community and also a

 good opportunity for the people being rehabilitated to learn new skills, which, maybe in the past never learnt Not all people leave Remar at the end of their treatment, plenty of people want to give back to God after He gave them a new life, and they do this by helping others who are in the same situation they were.

They work as monitors and work full time in workshops such as metalwork, carpentry, printing, laundries, bakeries,etc. We realized in time that just the rehabilitation of the physical body was not enough so we opened, our evangelical churches in the country called “Body of Christ” This way the people could get to know their Creator and fill the void which led them to start taking drugs, alcohol ect.. We don’t help just adults, but all ages since drugs has effects all on all people those taking them or the families that live with the consumer. That is why we have opened homes for mothers, youths, elderly people; our aim is to give them the opportunity for a better life. We also have a program called PAN which is for sponsoring children inside our organization. Many of the children inside Remar are orphans or have never known what a father or family is.

Our aim is to give them a new family through Remar. With all this our aim remains the same, to help those who most need it, extending out our hand to where the society has forgotten. Our aim is to keep extending our hands, opening in new cities where possible. God will supply us with the tools necessary to complete the work. And send a message of hope and a better future which is much needed news for the whole world, only possible though Jesus Christ.
